Incoming (2024) 😀

I forgot how much I thoroughly enjoyed Incoming! While putting this post together, I couldn’t stop laughing at all the ridiculousness packed into this great coming-of-age comedy. Full disclosure: this movie is 100% dude humor. That doesn’t mean it’s only for guys—it just means the comedy isn’t exactly deep. Think hilarious one-liners, absurd situations, and loads of charm.

The vibe is reminiscent of American Pie—but a bit more innocent. The core friend group of Benj (Mason Thames), Eddie (Ramon Reed), and Connor (Raphael Alejandro) is a perfect foundation for comedic greatness. They’re slightly offbeat, terrified of girls, and clueless at parties—a classic recipe for hilarity and heart.

Then there’s Koosh (Bardia Seiri), the wannabe big shot trying to make a name for himself. His antics are a perfect accent to the film as he piggybacks on the exploits of his older brother Kayvon (Kayvan Shai), taking credit for everything Kayvon does while somehow still managing to mess things up.

But the ladies truly steal the show. Alyssa (Ali Gallo), Connor’s older sister, is brilliant as the exasperated yet begrudgingly loving sibling who tolerates her brother—and high school itself—with a perfectly tuned holier-than-thou attitude. And Katrina (Loren Gray), the quintessential “most popular girl in school,” nails her role with just the right mix of charm and levity. The way her storyline intersects with the boys’ is pure gold—I’ll never look at Teslas the same way again!

If you’re in the mood for something lighthearted and laugh-out-loud funny, look no further. Incoming is a fantastic ride that’s as ridiculous as it is entertaining. Sometimes, we all just need a movie that doesn’t take itself too seriously—and this one delivers in spades.
