Let’s start with the obvious: sequels that arrive nearly 30 years after the original face an uphill battle (like uphill, both ways, in the snow kind of uphill). What’s more, these films often rely on cameos from the original cast to draw in more of an audience. Twisters took a bold gamble by skipping this trope—and it paid off spectacularly. This is a perfect sequel!
Kudos to everyone involved in this magnificent production. The story, casting, direction, scenery, and even the soundtrack all come together seamlessly. It’s exciting to see delayed sequels proving that audiences still crave more from beloved stories—and that box-office success is absolutely achievable.
Now, let’s talk about the stars, Kate (Daisy Edgar-Jones) and Tyler (Glen Powell). Holy smokes! Their chemistry is electric, the kind of rare, tangible connection that lights up the screen. I’d love to see these two team up again in another film—they were just that good.
And about the soundtrack: not only does it perfectly complement every scene, but it’s Country! As someone who hasn’t traditionally been a fan of the genre (probably because I haven’t been exposed to the right kind), this album was a revelation. So many of the songs are fantastic, and I love how this film showcases the strength of Country music to audiences who might otherwise never listen to it.
If you haven’t seen this movie yet, take a moment to reflect on your life choices—and then go fix them. Just kidding! (Kind of.) Seriously, though, you owe it to yourself to give this one a shot. It’s an absolute must-watch.
