Transformers One (2024) 😀

Transformers One was an absolute delight! I’ll admit, I was nervous going in. Ever since Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox left the franchise, the quality of the films has certainly “come down a notch.” Fast forward to 2024—a year where movies finally feel mostly “back to normal” post-COVID—and we’re introduced to another installment in the Transformers universe.

But wait—it’s animated. And it’s a September release, which often signals cautious confidence from the studio. My expectations were low, but as a movie lover, I decided to give it a shot anyway. AND WOW, DID IT PAY OFF!

The story was brilliant. The brotherhood between Optimus (voiced by Chris Hemsworth) and Megatron (Brian Tyree Henry) provided a rich and compelling backdrop to their famously strained relationship in the future.

And Bee? Absolutely fantastic! Bumblebee (aka B-127) was the perfect comedic accent to the story. The writing was solid, but Keegan-Michael Key’s delivery elevated it to gold-standard levels of humor. And let’s talk about that ‘A-a-tron’ reference—OMG, what a hilarious touch!

If the fact that it’s animated is holding you back, I implore you to give it a chance. This film is destined to become a family classic, appealing to all age groups with its heart, humor, and stellar storytelling.
