The Force Awakens was a powerful reintroduction to the Star Wars universe—one that managed to honor the legacy of the original trilogy while ushering in a new era of characters, visuals, and storytelling. As someone who grew up with the prequels during my teenage years, I was curious—and maybe a little skeptical—about how this new chapter would hold up. But I walked away impressed.
The film is visually stunning. With modern filmmaking technology and an obvious attention to detail, the movie looks and feels massive. From sweeping desert landscapes to thrilling space battles, it’s exactly the kind of spectacle Star Wars fans hope for.
Rey was perfectly cast. Daisy Ridley brought both vulnerability and strength to the character, and her journey of discovery felt fresh while still capturing the spirit of Star Wars. Likewise, John Boyega as Finn and Oscar Isaac as Poe brought energy and charisma that helped ground the story in a new generation of heroes.
Kylo Ren, played by Adam Driver, was another standout. He’s a complex villain—powerful and intimidating, but also deeply conflicted. The decision to bring back Harrison Ford as Han Solo was a brilliant one, and his presence added real emotional weight to the film. That final moment between Han and Kylo is bold, heartbreaking, and unforgettable. It reminded us that Star Wars is about more than just lightsabers and starships—it’s about family, legacy, and the difficult choices we make.
And of course, the film’s cliffhanger ending—with Luke Skywalker standing silently on that remote island—was the perfect note to end on. It reawakened the mystery and excitement that made the original trilogy so beloved.
In every way, The Force Awakens did its job. It re-engaged long-time fans, welcomed newcomers, and set the stage for a bold new chapter in the saga. A home run for the franchise.
