Minions & Monsters (2026) 😊

Minions & Monsters was more fun than I expected, and the biggest surprise is how it crams all of Hollywood into one place. That mash-up works, and the movie comes out swinging. The early humor is gold, and watching the minions team up with all kinds of villains had me hooked. I could’ve used a lot more of that.

Where it wobbles is when the real villain shows up. The character leans eccentric in a way that doesn’t land for every age in the family. It reminded me of Hotel Transylvania 4: fine enough for kids, but not a story you’ll think about after. Compare that to Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, which built a villain that hit for young and old alike. That’s usually what lifts a movie with a strong hero: a real antagonist to push against.

Here’s the thing though. This was never reaching for that kind of depth, and I’m okay with it. It wants to stay light, and it nails that. No pretense, no big emotional swings, just a good time that knows exactly what it is.

If you’ve liked the other installments, this fits right in. It’s not essential, and it won’t stick with you the way the best animated films do, but it delivers the laughs and the family energy it promises. Go in expecting fun over story and you’ll leave happy.

Light, funny, and comfortable in its own lane: a great watch for the family, just don’t expect it to reinvent anything.
