Killer Heat (2024) 😊

Full stop: Killer Heat doesn’t break new ground, but it’s still a solid watch. This is one of those rare cases where I disagree with the low IMDb viewer ratings (5.6 as of this review). Normally, a score like that would have me urging caution, but if the trailer intrigues you, I’d say it’s worth your time.

Now, about the movie. While not exactly a whodunit, the story revolves around a suspicious death in the ultra-wealthy Vardakis family—one that some believe isn’t the accident it’s being made out to be. Joseph Gordon-Levitt shines as always, bringing depth and charisma to his role as the PI who helps Penelope (Shailene Woodley) uncover what could be a scandalous conspiracy.

Ultimately, Killer Heat isn’t a film you’ll remember years from now, but does that really matter? Sometimes, all you need is a decent movie with which to unwind on the weekend, and this one fits the bill if you aren’t quite sure what to watch.
