I Know What You Did Last Summer (2025) 😀

A smart, scary, and satisfying return to a classic slasher franchise.

I wasn’t sure what to expect going into I Know What You Did Last Summer—especially considering how many years it’s been since the original film—but this new installment really delivers. It pays homage to the original in just the right way: respectful but not cheesy, modern but still rooted in the vibe that made the franchise fun in the first place.

It was an absolute treat to see some of the original cast return—and honestly, considering it’s been nearly 30 years, they all look incredible! Their presence adds authenticity and a sense of continuity that fans of the series will appreciate.

I’ll be the first to admit: I’m not great at guessing who the killer is. I tend to get swept up in the experience itself—popcorn in hand, just enjoying the ride—and this film played that to perfection. Every guess I made turned out to be dead wrong, and I loved that. The mystery keeps you guessing right up to the end.

The jump scares? Spot on. The violence? Exactly what you want from a slasher: gory, but not excessive. The pacing moves briskly, never dragging, and the acting strikes that perfect slasher-movie balance—earnest enough to care, but self-aware enough not to take itself too seriously.

And without spoiling too much, I’ll just say this: one of the killers is going to be a polarizing choice among fans. But in my opinion, it was a bold move that worked perfectly—it adds a fresh twist that made the reveal all the more satisfying.

This is the perfect movie for date night: scary, fun, and just a little nostalgic. And if (when!) another sequel comes along, you can bet I’ll be there opening weekend.
