This film gets everything right. The emotional payoff, the action, the visuals, all of it. It’s a masterclass in pacing, balancing quiet character moments with the Battle of Hogwarts you’ve waited for since the very beginning.
Daniel Radcliffe gives his best performance as Harry here. This isn’t just about facing Voldemort, it’s about a kid confronting his own doubts after losing so much. He’s vulnerable and worn down, and that makes everything hit harder. Ralph Fiennes is genuinely menacing as Voldemort, even a little pitiable at the end while Helena Bonham Carter is unhinged as Bellatrix.
Then there’s the moment Harry faces off with the Dark Lord in the courtyard. David Yates stages the whole battle so you can follow the geography and the stakes. It feels real, never cartoonish.
This is an epic ending, respecting the source material while being bold enough to change what needed changing for the screen. If I had to pick one word, it would be magical, in every sense.
This is the conclusion the series deserved, and it left me incredibly pleased. See it, then see it again.
