Family Switch is a modern take on the classic Freaky Friday formula—with a twist. Instead of just a parent and child switching bodies, both parents switch with both of their kids, which opens the door to more perspectives and more opportunities for comedy. The result is a light, family-friendly film that offers a few laughs and enough heart to carry it through its runtime—but it’s not something that will stick with you long after the credits roll.
The setup is as familiar as ever: a cosmic fluke forces family members to walk in each other’s shoes (literally), leading to misunderstandings, lessons learned, and eventual growth. There’s nothing particularly groundbreaking here, but the movie knows what it is and leans into the fun.
