How to Music Privacy Policy
How to Music is built to be private by design. The app has no accounts, no ads, no analytics SDKs, no third-party tracking, and does not sell your data.
Information the app reads
How to Music reads your Apple Music library through Apple’s MusicKit: your songs, albums and artists, the playlists you have built, what you have favorited, and the play counts and last-played dates Apple Music already records for you. It reads this on your device, with your permission, and keeps it on your device.
Information the app stores
The app stores its own derived view of your library (tiers, taste signals and the Likes you give inside this app) along with your display preferences. This is stored locally on your device.
Where your data stays
Your listening data is not sent to the developer and is not uploaded to any server. The Likes you give inside this app sync across your own devices through Apple’s iCloud (a CloudKit private database), which lives in your personal iCloud account and is governed by Apple’s privacy policy. Your library itself is not copied anywhere, because Apple Music already syncs it.
Writes to your Apple Music account
Two actions in this app write to Apple Music, and only when you choose them. Rating a song with the star or the thumbs-down writes that rating to your Apple Music account, exactly as Love and Suggest Less Like This do inside Apple Music itself. Adding a song to a playlist writes to your playlist. The Like button is internal to this app and is never sent to Apple Music.
Information collected by the developer
The app does not collect personal information from you for the developer. If you contact support, the information you choose to send in that message may be used to respond to your request.
Analytics, ads, and tracking
How to Music does not use advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or tracking technologies, and it does not sell personal data.
Purchases
How to Music is free and has no in-app purchases.
Children’s privacy
How to Music is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as the app changes. If data practices change materially, this page should be updated before the new version is released.
