Mutiny (2026) 😀

We get one Jason Statham movie a year now (and this year, two), and I’m not complaining. The Beekeeper, A Working Man, Shelter, and now this one. There’s a rhythm to it, and this lands right where you want it to.

Upfront: the story isn’t deep. No hidden second layer, no twist that reframes anything. It’s built for people who love watching Statham do Statham, and it hits every beat we show up for. Somehow that doesn’t feel lazy. It feels like a filmmaker who knows the assignment.

The setting does a some real heavy lifting here. Everything happens on a cargo ship in the middle of the ocean, so nobody’s running anywhere. That confinement gets used well. Every corridor and cargo hold turns into a trap, and the action is better for it.

The supporting cast surprised me. Everyone’s committed, nobody’s cashing a paycheck, and they hold their own next to the guy on the poster. My one real complaint: we never find out what happens to any of them. Get in, get it done, roll credits. Not a dealbreaker, but a few more minutes with those characters would have given the whole thing just a little more weight.

Pacing is tight the whole way. I never checked the time.

If you’re a Statham fan, or even Statham-adjacent, see it. Same if you just want a popcorn action movie that delivers. If you need a little story depth to stay engaged, skip it.
