Quick answers
- What do I need to connect it?
- An App Store Connect API key with the Admin role. Apple restricts the Analytics Reports API to Admin keys, and App Store Connect will not warn you if yours is scoped lower. Almanac tells you before you create the key, and says so plainly if the key you paste cannot read reports.
- Why do the numbers stop a day or two short of today?
- App Store Connect analytics reports run one to three days behind. Almanac always states the day the numbers are complete through, because “yesterday” is never what the reports mean.
- Why does it say proceeds and not revenue?
- Because proceeds is what Apple reports: the figure after Apple’s commission. Calling it revenue would overstate it.
- Can it show me data from before I installed it?
- It backfills as far as Apple will serve, which is roughly 365 days from the day you ask. Everything from the day you connect onward is kept permanently, which is the whole point of the app.
- Where is my API key stored?
- In your device keychain. It is used only for HTTPS requests to Apple, and is never sent to the developer or anywhere else.
- Does one purchase cover iPhone and iPad?
- Yes. Almanac is a one-time purchase with Universal Purchase, so buying it once covers both.
Good details to include
- Your iPhone or iPad model and OS version.
- Which screen had the issue.
- What you expected to happen.
- What happened instead.
